My life is like Neapolitan ice cream. Vanilla is my must do stuff such as going to work, going to school, etc. Can get boring, but I need it to make my life complete. Strawberry ice cream is everything that goes along with the vanilla. And Chocolate is all my favorite things about life. Shopping, photography, having fun and I always need just a little more chocolate then vanilla or strawberry. I always eat my Neapolitan ice cream with a little extra chocolate.

Since this is my first post for the new year, I'd like to cover my New Year's resolutions. First of all I want to lose 10-15 pounds which shouldn't be too overly hard, but nonetheless not every enjoyable. I've been drinking a slimfast shake for breakfast, eating a lean cuisine for lunch and having a low calorie snack in the afternoon followed by a sensible dinner. Another resolution I'd really like to keep is keeping my house cleaner. I did really well when we first moved in, but since I started working and going to school it's been tough, but I figure where there's a Will, there's a way (no pun intended) because I did get quite a lot of "encouragement" from my husband Will. I also want to look my very best everyday. With going to school and working, it's all to easy for me to just roll out of bed, throw on scrubs, throw my hair in a heap on my head and go to school, but I want to look my best. That's all I can think of now, so I'll go into my new or rather revisited hobby. I've always enjoyed taking pictures of people, things, places, anything really. It makes me feel all good inside to be able to capture a moment forever. I have a point-and-shoot digital camera that has been very kind to me and I've gotten tons of great photos with it, but it's time for me to move on, to an SLR digital camera that is. I've chosen the Canon digital Rebel XTi with the 17-85mm standard Zoom lens. I'm more than excited to be purchasing this camera. I've done extensive research on this camera, and based on where I'm at in the hobby of photography, I believe this is the perfect camera for me to really jump in. Some day I'd to upgrade to a true professional level camera, and possibly take photographs as a fun side job. The thought of taking pictures for someone's wedding or portraits of a newborn baby really excite me. We'll see what the future holds for me. I'd love to be a full-time pharmacist and part-time photographer!

Our first Christmas spent as a couple was not EXACTLY what I thought it would be. We spent Christmas in Ormond Beach, FL which is like my all time favorite place in the world with the Conlans, Will's long time friends and my friends since I've known Will. They've always opened up their homes and hearts to us and this visit was no different, but I felt strangely sad on Christmas, I sadness I had not expected. After visiting Will's granny, I felt we needed to be with family for Christmas and I openly wept at not being able to see my parents. This is the first Christmas of my entire life that I've not spent Christmas with them and it was more than tough. The thought of eating Christmas dinner with the Conlan's parents whom I had never met was the last thing on my mind, so my wonderful husband said we didn't have to, and we stopped at Winne Dixie and picked up some meager ingredients for our own little Christmas dinner. It consisted of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and cranberry sauce. It was perfect. The food might not have been what I had planned on, we were in someone else's house, but I was content to be with my husband and I loved that. We left the next day to visit Will's mom and dad. Will's mother showered me with Christmas gifts, all of which I loved. So far we've had a good time with them. We leave tomorrow to see Will's grandparents, then we're going to see our good friend Bill Hughes in Chattanooga, then finally we'll spend New year's eve and day with my parents and family in Clarksville. This is has been a Christmas trip I won't soon forget. When we finally arrive back home in Memphis, it'll be almost time for me to begin my second semester of pharmacy school, something I'm looking forward to with anxiousness and fear and happiness all at the same time.
